Taking Diana back to Walker's Table after cutting short a previous visit due to a mysterious radio report (see D102 The Hydra), the Phantom is perplexed to find that the rope, basket and pulley used for transportation up the vertical cliff side have been smashed to pieces.

When further investigations at the top of the mesa reveal hidden loot in the inner compartments and a new lock on the front entrance, the Phantom sends Diana off to safety and lies in wait for the perpetrators to return. But he is in for an unpleasant surprise...
