The Phantom is relaxing with the Palmers when news about a crime wave hits the papers. And what is worse: Eager to cover their crimes, the Crooner's gang have made a copy of the Phantom's skull ring and leave a skull mark at every crime scene to implicate their enemy.

The Phantom must locate and capture the gang before he can clear his name, a task made much more difficult when he is apprehended by police and thrown into jail...
