A duplicitous stunt in the jungle involving a carnival performer and her tame tiger pet goes horribly wrong when a wild tiger attacks and nearly maims a photographer from a local paper. The instigators flee the scene believing that they are responsible for the 'death'.

Returning to the jungle, the Phantom must find the by now infamous Tiger Girl and rescue her from the clutches of an Osewey tribe that is determined to exorcise her 'tiger spirit'...
