Professor Dawson, fresh back from his trek to a mysterious cave in the deep jungle (see D126 The Cavelands) is this year's favourite to win the prestigious Moxley Awards for his find.

When a discredited scientist forces Dawson to reveal the location of his find, the former manages to put a call through to the Phantom for help. The latter takes the opportunity to bring Hzz back to his roots, unaware that the Tirangi head-hunters seem to be up to their old tricks in the area.
