A curious entry in the 6th Phantom's chronicles prompts the Walker family to go on a treasure hunt on a beach near Keela-Wee where lifeboats from sinking ships once came ashore to bury two large chests and their mysterious content.

The search is complicated by curious members of the nearby Tongo tribe misunderstanding the Phantom's intentions, and further jeopardised when two ex-convicts turn up in the village and manage to convince the Tongo that the Phantom is an impostor...
