Having escaped the evil clutches of the Singh Brotherhood (see D001 The Singh Brotherhood), The Phantom learns that his rescuer Sala is in fact a spy for the all-female Sky Band, and that the circumstances surrounding Sala's subsequent escape results in the Phantom being chased as a member of the band.

The Phantom has to locate the Sky Band and immobilise the organisation before he himself is caught, and has also to contend with the Baroness, the cruel and manipulating leader of this elusive band.
