50 years ago, Dr. Worth saved the Phantom from certain death after the latter had been badly wounded whilst battling and sinking a pirate ship. As a reward, the Phantom bestowed upon the doctor the Phantom's good mark for protection through the generations.

50 years later it is the men's respective grandchildren's turn to meet, as seven year old Conley, sole heir to his family's wealth, runs into the wild to beg the Phantom to save Conley's guardian from certain death...
