On their way back from Ptjar (see S017 The 12 Tasks), the Phantom and Diana stop to rest by the old Wambesi ruins, where an ancient dragon god is said to have ruled the tribe in the past. Not believing the rumours, the Phantom nevertheless has to investigate when reports come in from the jungle that the ancient god is alive once again and that Wambesi are on the warpath.

As Wambesi loot and destroy the Ulangi village in the name of their god, the Phantom makes his way back to the ruins to be confronted with an impossible sight: a fire-breathing dragon in full command of its subjects. The Phantom has no choice but to enter the dragon's lair...
