A lion cub rescued from the wild is now living with the hunter's family, but despite being tame as a kitten and a vegetarian, the now fully grown lion is regarded as a mortal threat by the rest of the community. So when a decision is made to put Fluffy down, the nine-year old boy Conley secretly runs away with his pet.
