One particular day every year the Phantom fasts to the memory of his late father who died ten years ago after being stabbed in the back by the Singh informer Rama, who later took over the organisation. Our Phantom has sworn to avenge his father and bring back the skull belt which the treacherous informer stole from his victim.

Soon, chance remarks overheard by a servant at the Explorer's Club in Bengali lead a determined Phantom to a lawless smuggler's haven called Gullique Isle, where a certain Rama rules supreme...
