This fall it is 50 years since Asterix was born on 29 October 1959 in the pages of the first issue of the weekly magazine Pilote.

For that event, Albert Uderzo has come up with an exceptional gift in tribute to his heroes and their millions of readers from around the world!
A date has been set for all fans: on 22 October 2009, a new album of Asterix short stories will be available throughout the world with 56 pages of brand-new, never-before-published cartoons!
By the very first days of summer, the album was almost finished. Albert Uderzo is just now discovering the very latest coloured versions of his pages and is issuing his last comments and directives.
For him, the goal is patent: nothing less than excellence… and fits of laughter!
What the different countries will bring in addition to the album is not known, nor exactly what is inside the book, but it will be released on the same day in all countries. Look for advertising about the new Asterix - 50 years album in your store!
