The story:
Alerted to a ship's bell being found on a remote beach, The Phantom concludes that the merchant vessel of his ally Savarna has been sunk whilst aiding his recent escape from Gravelines Prison (see D230 The Trail to Gravelines Prison).

Determined to ascertain Savarna's fate, The Phantom tries to locate the sunken ship near the Rhodian border - unaware of the unexpected twists that lie ahead...

Watch out for:

  • A grim discovery on board India Voyager II
  • A much changed former ally
  • The Phantom felled by Savarna's bullets
