The story:

A reluctant Kit Walker is made to leave the jungle at the age of 12 to receive his education in America, initially staying with his mother's sister and her husband and with only his young friend Guran (soon to be Bandar chief) as support from 'home'.

In this gripping tale, Phantom author Lee Falk for the second time relates the full-length story of how 'our' Phantom grew up and eventually assumed his father's thrown. (Compare with the first such story by Falk/McCoy in S011 The Childhood of the Phantom.)

Watch out for:
  • Kit's painful adjustments to a life outside the jungle
  • Kit's first meeting with Diana Palmer as a youngster
  • The moment of truth in the Skull Cave
