The story:
A pilot parachuting over the jungle is saved by the Phantom just before a lion is about to claim its kill, and later taken to the nearby Xanxanga village, where an elephant worshipping tribe is preparing a colossal amount of valuable ivory tusks for sacred burial.

On returning to the civilisation, the guide speaks readily about his experience to a band of ruthless poachers, and is later forced to pilot the thugs back to the protected valley, where a plan is set in motion to steal the valuable ivory and kill anybody who stands in the way...
