The story:
100 years ago, an ancestor of our Phantom's is saved from certain death by a big-game hunter called Carlyle. In return, the latter receives a permanent mark on his left arm that will forever protect him and his descendants in their hour of need.

Many years later, one such descendant, the young Tony Carlyle, strays too deep into Omgali territory and is captured by head-hunters. This time, the mark has not the desired effect. In despair, his bride Connie is reduced to summoning the ancient legend behind the mysterious mark...
