The story:
Pursuing a band of jungle raiders, the Phantom is rescued by troops belonging to the highland prince Tagon. After pledging any assistance in the future as a reciprocal gesture, the Phantom is soon summoned back to act as the prince's go-between and to propose marriage to the beautiful princess Melme, who has previously turned down all the prince's advances on the grounds that he is too fat.

The Phantom reluctantly agrees, but is soon drawn into a more complex web than the one he was sent out to disentangle. With no solution in sight, the Phantom turns to drastic measures...
